Our Impact

Uganda Teachers Rising (UTR) project.

We work on improving the quality of education received by thousands of young children, empowering them and their teachers in their classrooms.

We support school teachers to deliver high quality teaching and learning including project based STEAMie (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths, and innovation with enterprise) lessons. Lessons integrate many subject areas making products with tangible business and sales outcomes. Learners and teachers are more engaged engendering enhanced learning outcomes, more enthusiasm for learning, developing need socio-economic skills for prosperous economic development.

What we do

We plan and support amazing projects that help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people from across different regions of the world.

Uganda Teachers Rising Project

The mentorship-based project develops teachers in primary school to engage in learner-centred practice in the classroom. The pedagogical methods aligns itself with the impending new curriculum for primary schools. Our focus is learner collaboration, dialogue, live assessment and inclusion stretching all abilities of students.

STEAMie

We train schools in project based learning to improve STEAMie skills. The projects follow our STEAM learning cycle, where learners create and sell local products, developing their skills in science, math, engineering, and entrepreneurship in the process.  This also drives the socio-economic development of their communities. Our low-cost, high-quality projects develop critical thinking  to create the STEM and entrepreneurial professionals of the future.

We develop

Our lead practitioners, expert and trained teachers, mentor teachers in partner schools delivering 21st century pedagogy in deprived school conditions. Teachers can achieve success and certification within the program within 6 months, depending on their motivation, and may be selected to become new mentors in new schools as we expand our reach.

ICT training
